beside the fact that email is a nice way to comunicate i wonder that the technique of (vitreous) enamel aka email in our times of diy-culture and retro-movements is that uncommon or unused. no new enamel products with new hip designs.
i anyway like the old stuff enough – especially stuff for kitchen and garden. i like the simple look (of designs befor the 50ties), the feeling when you touch it with your finger or lips while drinking and i like the spots where it oxidize. it doesn’t ... more

When i was in the Netherlands in april my sister and i where just using one bike to get through the day. We did a little bike-trip from Amsterdam citycenter to Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. We just had one bike so we exchanged the positions of sitting on the rear rack and on the saddle (I prefer to sit with both legs on one side – sepcially for long distances). I found it great that we easily did around 30 kilometers just riding on one (simple holland) bike together.

Fix The Boat from Milo Tesselaar on Vimeo.
A bunch of young people, together fixing/renovating a boat on the first sunny days of the year, working together to start something new. Actually, “it” started already as the experience to fix the boat together is probably a part(y) of their jorney.
For me personally the way they where doing it, the common coordination and uncoordination, the slowliness, the dirt in their faces, the calmness within their doing, the amateur-stile, the music ... more

To mark the “Day of Women” happening tomorrow i share one of my “biggest” female mystries. It is a bag-brand i haven’t ever read a storry about, haven’t heard anything about it (word of mouth), i have never seen an advertisement, i don’t know where its usually bought (haven’t seen any flagshipstores so far) - but every second women in the western world has one, even more than LV originals and fakes together.
What is it, that women and girls at ... more
